Privacy Policy

Notice: This text is a general template prepared for the Betonna platform. The platform owner should review it with a qualified legal adviser before launch and adapt it to the business and to the laws in force in Iraq.

1. Introduction

At Betonna we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect when you use our website and apps, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights available to you.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: name, phone number, e-mail address, password (stored encrypted), account type and preferred language.
• Communication data: messages, inquiries, service requests and quotes exchanged through the Platform.
• Company and provider data: business details, licences and documents submitted for verification, logo, photos and profile description.
• Listing data: property descriptions, photos, prices and locations.
• Location data: your location, only when you allow it, to show properties and services near you.
• Device data: device type, operating system, IP address, push notification tokens and sign-in records.
• Payment records: plan, amount, payment date and invoices. Card details are processed directly by the payment gateways; we never store full card numbers.
• Usage data: saved searches, favourites, ratings and notification preferences.

3. Why we use your data

• To provide the service: creating and running your account, publishing listings, delivering inquiries and requests, and managing subscriptions and invoices.
• For safety and trust: verifying phone numbers, verifying companies and service providers, fighting fraud and fake listings, and alerting you to sign-ins from new devices.
• For legal obligations: keeping financial records and responding to lawful requests from the competent authorities.
• To communicate with you: sending in-app, push and e-mail notifications, and SMS for critical events, such as saved-search alerts, price changes and subscription status.
• To improve the Platform: understanding how the Platform is used so we can develop it, using aggregated data wherever possible.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your data to deliver the service you asked for under our Terms and Conditions, to meet our legal obligations, for our legitimate interest in protecting the Platform and its users, and on the basis of your consent where it is required, for example for access to your location or for analytics cookies. In doing so we comply with the applicable laws of Iraq.

5. Sharing your data

We never sell your personal data. We share it only in the following cases and only as far as necessary:

• With the real-estate company, representative or service provider you choose to contact, so they can reply to you.
• With payment gateways, to process payments.
• With SMS, e-mail and push notification providers, to deliver messages to you.
• With hosting and technical infrastructure providers that act on our behalf under appropriate protection obligations.
• With the competent authorities when the law requires it.

Information you choose to publish, such as a company page, listings and ratings, is visible to all visitors of the Platform.

6. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active and afterwards for as long as needed to provide the service, meet our legal and accounting obligations or resolve disputes. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data, except what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices.

7. Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, encrypted password storage, SMS verification codes, new-device sign-in alerts and restricted access within our team. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please keep your sign-in details safe.

8. Your rights

• Access your personal data and obtain a copy of it.
• Correct or update inaccurate data from your account settings.
• Ask us to delete your account and data.
• Withdraw your consent at any time, for example by turning off location access in your device settings.
• Control your notification preferences and choose what you receive and through which channel.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the Platform, for example to keep you signed in and remember your language. We use analytics cookies only with your consent, and you can change your choice at any time.

10. Children

The Platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you learn that a minor has given us personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. International transfers

Some of your data may be hosted or processed by cloud service providers whose servers are located outside Iraq. In that case we make sure the data is protected by appropriate safeguards.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will publish the updated version on this page with its effective date and inform you of material changes through the Platform or by e-mail.
